Meghalaya NGO seeks CM's intervention into problems faced by South Garo Hills

The Garo Student’s Union (GSU), South Zone, met Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and highlighted the problems faced by the residents of the district.

The pressure group, through a memorandum submitted on March 17, sought a new district auditorium at Baghmara and a new Deputy commissioner’s office.

“We have also sought the introduction of private banks in the district like ICICI, HDFC, etc. Further, we have also highlighted the poor network connectivity that the district faces and sought for more towers to be set up in Rongara and Moheskola that has been devoid of network connectivity,” said president, Chuang HM Sangma.

The Chief Minister, according to the GSU, has assured to look into resolving all problems while adding that the DC office complex was already under construction.

Later the NGO met Sports Minister, Banteidor Lyngdoh in Shillong.

“We highlighted various problems regarding the indoor stadium in Baghmara, and he assured us that the indoor stadium will be repaired and renovated soon,” added Chuang.
