During the inspection, the FKJGP members found that the officer and staff were not present at the office.

They also noticed that the staff quarters were in a dilapidated condition.

While addressing reporters, president of the FKJGP, Rangblang Area Unit Rockyfeller Paliar expressed his concern on the matter and said that the office, which was inaugurated in 2009, failed to function and brought about no development since its inception.

Staff quarters.

“We came here to meet the SDO and other staff of the office, but unfortunately we found and met only a chowkidar,” Paliar said.

“The office was meant to serve many villages of Mawsaw area and Umdohlun-Wahkaji area of South West Khasi Hills district. We want to send a clear message to the officer and staff that from now onwards they should be available in the office every day to serve the people of the District” he added.

Meanwhile, the federation urged the state government and the concerned department to look into the matter and take appropriate action.
