Meghalaya: National Voters Day observed in West Khasi Hills

The people of West Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya observed the 11th National Voters' Day 2021 at Anderson Higher Secondary School Auditorium in Upper New Nongstoin.

The programme kicked off with an open painting competition on 'Voting Day Amid the Pandemic," and debate competition on the topic ‘Does Vote Count and Transform'.

District Election Officer, T. Lyngwa, while addressing the gathering as a Chief Guest, lauded the spirit of competition among the youths of the district.

He urged the students and the participants to spend time in their areas of interest and keep themselves occupied and away from "evil temptations."

Lyngwa also congratulated the new voters and urged them to make use of the Epic Card by exercising their right to vote.

Meanwhile, two Booth Level Officers (BLO), Pynlangbor Lyngdoh and Rechel Thongnibah felicitated in the event.

The programme concluded with a prize distribution ceremony which included cash prizes and citations to the winners of the competitions.
