Meghalaya: Model Code of Conduct for GHADC comes into force, electoral rolls handed over to parties

The Model Code of Conduct (MCC) for the upcoming elections to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) to be held on April 12 has been imposed on March 4.

The various political parties of the region have also been handed the electoral rolls of those eligible for voting on April 12 to various representatives of the parties.

In West Garo Hills (WGH), which has 13 of the 29 MDC constituencies, the electoral rolls were handed over by the Returning Officer, Ram Singh.

3,51,515 voters are eligible to cast their vote.

For WGH, Tura is the biggest constituency with 59, 808 electors followed by Shyamnagar with 42,793.

Barengapara has the least number of electors with 14,637 followed by Babelapara.

There are 1,75,582 male voters and 1,75,933 females voters.
