Meghalaya: Miscreants abduct delivery man in West Garo Hills

A man identified as Sayful Islam went missing on December 5 along with his motorcycle, while on his way to deliver fish to a marriage party.

Islam's family later filed an FIR on December 6 at Tikrikilla Police Station in Meghalaya's West Garo Hills District (WGH).

The family later received a call from Islam's number, and an unknown person informed them that Islam was in their custody.

The person also demanded a ransom of Rs. 15 lakh to be paid within three days.

A police search and rescue team were immediately on the hunt for the victim and the abductors.

According to police, the abductors fled and had dumped the victim on a roadside.

The case is registered, and the investigation is ongoing.
