Mawryngkneng MLA David Nongrum passed away at the age of 42, after suffering a cardiac arrest on Tuesday morning, sources said.

Mawryngkneng MLA David Nongrum passed away at the age of 42, after suffering a cardiac arrest on Tuesday morning, sources said.
Nongrum was first elected as an Independent MLA from Mawryngkneng in 2013.
In 2018, he retained his seat as an MLA on a Congress ticket.
He is the son of former Meghalaya Assembly speaker and senior Congress leader Charles Pyngrope.
