Meghalaya: FKJGP highlights urgent requirement of sonography technician

 |

TURA:

Members of the Federation of Khasi-Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) in Williamnagar, East Garo Hills (EGH) met Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Thursday to apprise him on the need to appoint a sonography technician at Williamnagar Civil Hospital.

In a memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister, the NGO sought the immediate recruitment of a technician, especially with the ongoing COVID–19 pandemic.

“This has caused tremendous hardship. We would therefore request you to kindly look into the matter and help to resolve the problem,” said one of the FKJGP members.

The FKJGP had earlier written to the Director of Health Services, who then directed the Deputy Commissioner of East Garo Hills to look into the matter.

However, according to the FKJGP, even after a month, no action was taken to recruit the technician.
