“The meeting with the Minister has been a fruitful one. The issue on the pending completion of the residential school at Mawtari and the other parts of the state was raised. The Minister has assured to take steps toward the issue,” Sumer told reporters.

“They launched the project in 2012-13 during the MUA-II government led by the then Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma, in which the state had sanctioned around 19 residential schools amounting to Rs 2-3 crore each,” he said.

“One was sanctioned at Mawtari village, and the construction work was done up to 80 per cent but was left unattended till date,” he added.
