The Dorbar Raid of Mawtari Myrdon Sirdarship and the Dorbar Shnong of Mawtari Myrdon, on Tuesday, threatened to take back a plot of land that had been given for the purpose of building a residential school building.

The issue was brought to light when the UDP Youth Wing, Ri-Bhoi, inspected the building which has been lying in ruins for several years now.

The Adviser of the UDP Youth Wing, Ri Bhoi, Donkupar Sumer, led the inspection and was accompanied by president Sumarlang Swer including the Sirdar of Raid Mawtari Myrdon, B.B Nongphlang, local headman Bishar Nongphlang and others.

“We have given the land free of cost to the government to promote quality education among the young generation. The residential school cannot serve its purpose, so it was decided that we would take back the land and the abandoned building for the L.P School as they do not have good infrastructure to accommodate the school children,” said Sirdar B.B Nongphlang.

They also urged the state government to take up the matter and to ensure the completion of the residential school.
