
SHILLONG:
The Crime Branch Police Station in Shillong, East Khasi Hills, which is a specialised police station that deals extensively with the investigation of criminal cases, was inaugurated on Monday by the Director-General of Police (DGP), R. Chandranathan.
The newly inaugurated police station will be the 75th police station in Meghalaya.
It will function under the Inspector General of Police (Eastern Range) and will have jurisdiction over six districts of the state’s eastern range namely East Jaintia Hills, West Jaintia Hills, East Khasi Hills, Ri-Bhoi, West Khasi Hills and South West Khasi Hills.
The Crime Branch Police Station is located opposite the old State Forensic Laboratory, near the Shillong Bar Association.
