Meghalaya CM to be tested again for COVID-19 after 10 days

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma will again be tested after 10 days since he tested positive for COVID-19 on December 11.

"He (chief minister) will again be tested after 10 days as per the protocols," a senior official informed here today.

More than 100 people who came into contact with the chief minister had been traced as high-risk contacts.

Out of the 100 plus high-risk contacts, two people were tested positive and they include Rajya Sabha and NPP state president, Dr Wanwei Roy Kharlukhi and one of his (CM's) security guards.

As of now, all the immediate family members of the chief minister have tested negative.

Meanwhile, Congress legislator from Ampati, Miani D. Shira was again tested positive in the second test on Friday.

An official informed that the Shira was tested positive with low counts.

Officials are hopeful that in the third test, Shira will likely test negative.
