Meghalaya CM lays foundation stone for new building at Williamnagar Govt College

WILLIAMNAGAR:

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, on Thursday, laid the foundation stone for a new building at Williamnagar Government College at Williamnagar in East Garo Hills district.

While addressing the gathering, Sangma informed that the target for completion of the building is 2022 and that construction would begin in January next year.

Sangma also highlighted the steps taken by the government to improve education in the state and lauded the local MLA for his initiatives towards the present status of the college.

The CM also spoke about the initiatives taken to improve road connectivity in the state, especially the roads which have been neglected for decades.

Besides this, Sangma said that the construction of the Tribal Research Centre would be completed by 2022.

Meanwhile, local MLA Marcuise N. Marak lauded the chief minister for sanctioning the new college building.

Others present during the programme included the director of higher and technical education Ambrose Ch Marak, former GHADC chairman Denang T Sangma, East Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Swapnil Tembe and the other dignitaries.
