TURA:

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, on Wednesday, inaugurated the new building of Bengali Secondary School, Dalu, constructed under the ‘Supporting Human Capital Development Project in Meghalaya’ - an initiative funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The project focuses on the improvement of secondary education, infrastructure, and skill development.

The project aims to upgrade government-aided secondary and higher secondary schools across the state with infrastructure to improve the overall learning environment for students.

While addressing the gathering, Sangma termed the project as a blessing for the students, for the people of Dalu, including Garo Hills and Meghalaya.

“Many things are being planned to improve the education scenario in the region so that students get maximum benefit,” Sangma said.

To transform the education sector in the state and to turn it into a centre of excellence for the people would depend on the person who runs it, Sangma said.
