SHILLONG:

Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K Sangma on Friday greeted the citizens of the state with the message of peace and love on the occasion of Christmas.

“Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, when people meet and greet each other to bestow the teachings of Jesus Christ”, Sangma said in a video message.

“Christmas is a celebration of joy and happiness; it is a season that reminds us to be grateful for the gift of love and kindness, which is reflected in the teachings of our lord Jesus Christ”.

“May the light of love, peace, happiness and abundance surround you and your loved ones this holiday season,” the CM further added.

The CM requested everyone to celebrate the holiday season in a responsible manner, and to imbibe the spirit of peace, compassion and forgiveness.

Christmas this year has been a low-key affair because of the pandemic, and the festive season gives us a moment to reflect upon the corona-inflicted year that people around the world have witnessed.

Earlier, the Governor of Meghalaya, Satya Pal Malik too had extended greetings for Christmas and New Year to the citizens of Meghalaya.
