A program on career guidance counselling for children living at child care institutions in West Khasi Hills was held at Bishop Hall, Nongstoin on February 6.

The office of the District Child Protection Unit, WKH organised the program in collaboration with Founder Centre for Academic and Life Skills Development and Counselling, Raitsamthiah, Shillong.

The career guidance program offered information of higher education, competitive exam and other educational avenues to the underprivileged students of the village.

Over 50 students from across the district took part in the program.

District Child Protection Officer, W Shabong, while speaking to media persons informed such programs are important for the students of the rural areas as it gives them an insight to opportunities available to them in the educational field.

He also informed that such programs will be organised regularly for the students of the area who do not have access to such opportunities.
