Meghalaya: BSF organises ‘Civic Action Programme and free medical camp in Shillong

The Border Security Force (BSF), on Friday, organised a free medical health camp under the ‘Civic Action Programme’ in Shillong to spread awareness on health.

The event witnessed the distribution of spectacles and wheelchairs to needy personnel at Nongmynsong and Mawpat area.

A special team of doctors, consultants and nurses from the BSF and Civil Hospital, under the supervision of Dr Richhpal Singh, CMO, BSF, conducted consultations and checkups.

Besides this, free checkups for blood pressure, BMI were carried out to spread awareness on diabetes and hypertension.

They held the camp at Lal Ground in Mawpat, Shillong.

BWWA President Ftr HQ Shillong, Lakhdeep Kaur inaugurated the camp in the presence of Avtar Singh Shahi, DIG, SHQ BSF Shillong, Manjit Kaur, BWWA President SHQ, BSF Shillong and other members.

The BSF is conducting several similar programmes all over the country as part of its Raising Day celebrations scheduled for December 1.
