The Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examination of the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE) will be held in March-April, 2021 because of the prevailing pandemic.

This was announced by the Education Department of Meghalaya on November 16.

However, the dates of examination will be finalised by the Meghalaya Board of School of Education (MBoSE).

No selection test will be held for appearing in the SSLC and HSSLC Examination.

"All schools including the unaffiliated schools should note the same and should not conduct any selection test at their level. Similarly, no selection test should be conducted by District Education officials for SSLC and HSSLC examination, 2021," read a notification issued by the department.

As a one time exemption, all candidates who are willing to appear in the SSLC and HSSLC Examination 2021, but had failed in selection tests conducted in the year 2019, will be allowed to appear in the final SSLC and HSSLC Examination to be held in March-April 2021.

Private candidates willing to appear for the same, can appear directly in the final exam after following procedures.

"All concerned should note that the cancellations of selection test and subsequent opportunity given to directly appear in the final SSLC and HSSLC Examination 2021 is done as a one-time exception to ensure safety and health of all the stakeholders because of the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation," read the notification.

It was informed that the current notification may not be treated as precedence.
