Meghalaya bans entry of poultry products from the western border of Assam

SHILLONG:

The Meghalaya government on Tuesday imposed an indefinite ban on the entry of poultry products through the western border of Assam as a precautionary measure following Avian Influenza outbreak in some states.

The government has imposed a temporary ban to prevent the spread of bird flu in the state and this comes into immediate effect and will remain in force until further orders, according to a notification issued by the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary department.
