Meghalaya: ANTF team seizes heroin worth 117.58 grams, four persons arrested

SHILLONG:

The Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) team acting on a tip-off arrested four persons and seized 10 soapboxes containing an illegal consignment of contraband transported from Manipur to Meghalaya.

According to sources, the illegal consignment of contraband was transported via a Network Travel Bus to Shillong from Manipur and was to be delivered to a person named Lhunkhojang Kuki at Demthring Petrol Pump.

The ANTF team conducted a surveillance in the area and intercepted a man after he had taken a carton containing suspected illegal contraband from the driver of the bus at around 9 am.

While checking the carton, they recovered 10 soapboxes of heroin. The total net weight of the contraband is 117.58 grams.

A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act of 1985.
