Meghalaya academic mentor gets World Human Rights Protection Commission award

A young academic mentor Evarist Myrsing from Ri-Bhoi district of Meghalaya was awarded the prestigious award known as the Honorary Doctorate which was conferred by the World Human Rights Protection Commission.

Myrsing who is the Senior Academic Mentor of Bharti Foundation was conferred with the award on February 21 in New Delhi by M Venkaiah Naidu, Vice President of India during the two-day International Workshops on “Human Rights and COVID-19 India Resilience” and Awards Ceremony.

Myrsing is also the national member of the World Human Rights Protection Council (WHRPC) working for protecting Human Rights honouring the universal declaration of human rights as enshrined in the UN Charter.

Myrsing who is a resident of Nongrim Nongladaw in Ri Bhoi District, said, "he had been working hard and has been dedicating his service which he has rendered using his innovativeness, creativity and academic experiences to empower young people and village communities in West Jaiñtia Hills especially the government and SSA Schools under the Quality Support Program of Bharti Foundation in Meghalaya."

He also shared that he had worked and also helped one teacher Niawki Samati from Lummynso UP SSA School in receiving one of the prestigious National Award from MHRD which was held on August 17, 2019, organised by Zero Investment Initiative for Educational Initiatives and on Sept 5, 2020, from Simply Jaipur as an excellent teacher and achiever.

Myrsing also serves as the President of the International Community of the Divine Saviour-ICDS or the Lay Salvatorians in Meghalaya and India.

Recognising the dedication and selfless service rendered by Myrsing, the District Administration of Ri Bhoi district, also felicitated him on the occasion of the Run for 100 per cent Literacy in the district.
