SHILLONG

The Synjuk Ki Nongsynshar Shnong ka Bri Hynniewtrep today donated blankets and mufflers to the children and staff of AW Thomas Girl’s Home at Jaiaw Lumsyntiew.

The organisation came forward to lend their support to the orphanage after 44 children recently tested positive for COVID-19.

Speaking on the occasion, Health and Family Minister Alexander Laloo Hek urged the children to have a strong will power to fight against the virus. He told the children he has managed to beat the virus by being strong from within.

This is the second visit of the Health Minister to the orphanage in the past few days.

The Health Minister also contributed 19 blankets to the orphanage.

Others present who spoke included the president of the Synjuk S.B. Nongdhar, extra assistant commissioner B. Ranee and the Rangbah Shnong of Jaiaw Laitdom, S.B. Kharbangar.
