Border Security Force Maitri cycle rally reaches Meghalaya

TURA: The Border Security Force(BSF) organised a Maitri Cycle Rally to commemorate the birth ceremony of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, which started from Panitor Border Outpost (BOP) near Basirhat in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal on January 10 arrived on Tuesday in South West Garo Hills, Meghalaya.

K Sharma, DIG SHQ Tura welcomed the rally on behalf of IG Ftr HQ Meghalaya in presence of S K Misra Comdt 28 Bn BSF and other BSF officers along with jawans, local villagers among others.

A cultural programme was organised at BOP Mahendraganj in the presence of S K Sharma, DIG SHQ Tura, Ramkrishna Chituri, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South West Garo Hills and other officials.

The rally will cover a distance of 4,090 km in 66 days to facilitate better relations across the border and spreading a sense of security and bond with the bordering people and BSF.
