Meghalaya: Son hits 65-yr-old mother with hammer on the head in Shillong

In a horrific incident, a 65-yr-old lady was allegedly assaulted with a hammer on the head by her son following her refusal to give him the money he had asked for. The incident tool place at Bara Bazaar near Ajmera Marbles showroom at around 1.29 pm on Friday.

It was informed that the victim Mina Deb Nath sustained head injuries and was shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital.

An official complaint on the matter was, however, not yet registered and the inspector incharge of the jurisdiction has been asked to enquire into the matter.

According to the police, the son, who is in his early 20s, is a drug addict. After his mother refused to give him money, he attacked his mother with a hammer on the head. The elderly mother is currently under medication.


Accident Cases: 

Two persons sustained injuries in different road accidents across the state on Friday. In the first case, one Bluestar Sangma (35), met with an accident after he fell down from his bike while trying to avoid another person, who was riding a Bicycle. He suffered minor injuries and was then shifted to Tikrikilla PHC.

In another case, one Luckywat Marak (24) skidded and fell from his bike in Mawlai Mawiong at around 12.09 am on Friday and sustained injuries. He was reported to be inebriated state when he fell from his bike.
