The proscribed Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) on Tuesday has claimed responsibility for the bomb attack at Dawki on February 11 even as it stated that the attack was a warning to all those 'conspirators' who aided in the operation to nab the militants.

In a press statement issued here on Tuesdat, HNLC publicity secretary Sainkupar Nongtraw said that the hand grenade which was thrown inside the premises of one Than Khonglah's house in Dawki on Feb 11 evening was the handiwork of the outfit.

Calling Khonglah 'conspirator', Nongtraw said "Than aided in the operation to nab the overground workers of the outfit and he is also involved in spreading false information about the outfit to the local businessmen. He uses surrendered HNLC cadres to stand up against the outfit and there were times when he uses the police to accompany him."

The bomb attack serves as a warning to all those who intends to conspire against the HNLC while threatening to hunt them down if they must. "If they (conspirators) fail to comply, we will be compelled to even take their lives even if it may take 5 months or 5 years for us to do so," Nongtraw said.
