Meghalaya: BNP leader produced in court
SHILLONG: Bangladeshi politician Salahuddin Ahmed was produced at the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate in Shillong today. He was in Police custody soon after his release from NEIGRIHMS hospital yesterday (May 26).
Following today's appearance, Ahmed has been remanded to 14 days judicial custody. The lawyer fighting the case for Ahmed had requested for medical assistance following complaints from the politician that he has chest pains and in al possibility, he is most likely to be taken back to NEIGRIHMS hospital.
The hearing for his bail will be held on May 29. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leader was in hospital since he was arrested on May 11 from Golf Link area on charges of illegally entering India.
He was admitted to the Meghalaya Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (MIMHANS) and was taken to the Shillong Civil hospital. He was shifted to NEIGRIHMS last week.
