Two militants arrested in Manipur

A team of commandos in Bishnupur arrested one active cadre of the United People’s Party of Kangleipak (UPPK) from Nambol Thongkha on Monday.

The cadre has been identified as Kayenpaibam Somorjit Singh, (26), of Imphal West District and has been currently living in Terakhongshangbi Leimaram Leirak.

An ex-cadre of the United Revolutionary Front (URF), presently working for the United National Liberation Front (UNLF) outfit organisation, was also arrested from Bir Tikendrajit International Airport at around 2:00 pm.

They have identified him as Khangembam Sanjoy Singh, (24), of Kumbi Setapur Maning Leikai.

The suspects were handed over to Nambol police station. They also registered a case against them.
