Sentinels of the North-East creating civilian-military balance along Indo-Myanmar border

Assam Rifles, on Friday, held a monthly meeting with village chiefs and residents at Mission Veng as part of an initiative to maintain peace and tranquillity in Moreh town along the Indo-Myanmar border.

The meeting discussed several topics such as availability of medical facilities, education, health and sanitation, safety measures against COVID-19, water supply and illegal cross border trade.

Assam Rifles officials assured help to villagers and also encouraged them to plant trees in the area and to enhance sports events to channelise the energy of youths.

Meanwhile, residents lauded the meeting and thanked the Assam Rifles for maintaining peace and tranquillity in the border areas.
