Security forces apprehend PREPAK (PRO) cadre in Manipur

IMPHAL:

In a joint operation, troops of Assam Rifles and Manipur Police on March 10 apprehended an insurgent of proscribed group PREPAK (PRO) from Litan Makhong area of Imphal East.

The 27-year-old PREPAK (PRO) insurgent was identified as Chanamthabam Prasanta Roy alias Abung alias Mangang, a resident of Lairikyengbam Leikai Salan Leirak area.

The apprehended insurgent confessed to being an active member and recruiter of PREPAK (PRO) and that he had joined the banned outfit in June 2019.

The insurgent was later on handed over to Heingang Police Station (PS) for further investigation and legal action.
