Security forces apprehend PLA cadre in Manipur

IMPHAL:

Security forces apprehended a cadre belonging to the proscribed outfit of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) on January 27.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of Assam Rifles and Manipur Police launched a joint operation and arrested the self-styled sergeant from Leimaram area in Bishenpur District of Manipur.

The insurgent was identified as Ningthoujam Lonin Singh (Ibomcha), aged 25 years, a resident of Laimaram Mayai Leikai, Nambol, Bishenpur district.

The apprehended person was later handed over to Nambol Police Station (PS) for further investigation.
