No private practice for government doctors in Manipur

IMPHAL:

To tackle the COVID-19 pandemic, the Manipur Health Department has issued a directive stating that all government doctors must fulfil their duties diligently in their place of posting.

V. Vumlummang, Principal Secretary (Health) stated in the directive that private practice by government doctors will not be allowed and that the Director of Health Services shall inspect to ensure that private hospitals do not engage government doctors.

The first report of the inspection is to be submitted by December 2.

Besides this, the directive mentioned that the Director of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) and Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) should immediately take up steps to ensure that their specialists and doctors attend their duties regularly.

The directive also stated that doctors engaged in COVID-19 duties should ensure regular monitoring of patients.
