New Trauma Center in Manipur to provide state-of-the-art care to Patients

To accommodate more patients with emergency and critical conditions, Chief Minister of Manipur N Biren Singh inaugurated a Trauma Care Centre with (Intensive Care Unit) ICU and Twin OT (Operation Theatre) Complex at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Imphal.

Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that the trauma center will enable to curb the mortality rates in the state caused by road accidents.

The Chief Minister said, "Manipur has no dearth of good doctors but people have to travel to the metropolis for lack of better equipment and spend money. But with such inauguration as the state-of-the-art Trauma Care Center, things are improving as RIMS now have many new facilities made available to the patients."

The state-of-the-art centre also boasts of a 30 bedded ICU with ventilators. The operation theatre is fully equipped for neurosurgery fitted with mobile x-ray and kidney dialysis facilities.
