Minister inspects agricultural facilities in two districts of Manipur

IMPHAL:

Minister for Agriculture Oinam Lukhoi Singh, on Friday, inspected the agricultural facilities implemented under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) in Manipur’s Imphal West and Bishnupur.

They carried out the inspection at Mayang Langjing (Imphal West District) and Nambol, Keinou, Naranseina and Khoirentak (Bishnupur District).

Singh also checked if they had implemented the schemes properly to develop the agricultural infrastructure in the state.

“PMKSY aims to improve farm productivity and ensure better utilisation of resources to increase agricultural productivity and contribute to economic development,” Singh said.

“Around 1,750 pumps and sprinkler sets, 305 farm ponds, 35 pond renovations, 42 irrigation channels and 30 check dam/micro storage were already implemented so far under the PMKSY scheme,” he said.

The agriculture minister also stated that they would conduct similar inspections in other districts in the coming days.
