IMPHAL | SEPT 07, 2020:

A vocational training programme sponsored by the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) was inaugurated by Chief Minister N. Biren Singh through video conferencing at Mantripukhri in Manipur on September 7.

The programme aims to equip untapped manpower with skills for unemployed youths and school dropouts from hills and valley districts alike.

"Trained youth will replace the skilled migrants who have returned to their states due to the pandemic and build a state that is self-employed and self-reliant," Chief Minister said.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, many migrant workers have left the state leaving the many informal sectors in the state in total jeopardy.
