Manipur: Sericulture Minister visits farms in Imphal West, listens to grievances faced by beneficiaries

Manipur's Minister of Sericulture, Awangbow Newmai visited the Sericulture farms located in Imphal West to discuss the grievances faced by the Seri beneficiaries on Thursday.

Besides sericulture plantation he also inspected the works taken up by the beneficiaries including mulberry plantations in the farms.

Sericulture Minister Awangbow Newmai said that most beneficiaries have fully utilized the fund allocated under the Integrated Sericulture Development Project (ISDP) and directed the under-performing beneficiaries to fully utilize the fund allocated under the ISDP to generate income of their own.

He also expressed happiness with the new ideas incorporated by the beneficiaries while planting mulberry plants.

"These ideas can be promoted for awareness to the other Seri beneficiaries for better production of the raw silk material", he said.

Newmai visited Seri farms located at Kachikhul, Sangaithel, Tairenpokpi, Phayeng, Kangchup Langdeibung, Khurkhul Makha and Khurkhul Awang in Imphal West district.
