Manipur ranked first among NE states in innovation index

NEW DELHI:

The India Innovation Index 2020, released a report on January 20, ranking states under various categories.

Manipur stood first among all the northeastern states in the innovation sector in the hill state category.

Likewise, Manipur's performance on other verticals of development was also impressive.

In the category of investment and enablers, Manipur stood first and second respectively among all the hill states of the NE.

In terms of knowledge of workers or technical knowhow, Manipur stood third after Himachal Pradesh and Sikkim with an overall point 20.87.

Coming to the business environment category, Manipur secured the eighth position, which was the lowest rank among the hill state category.

Under the knowledge output category, the state stood third after Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.

The Indian Innovation Index is released by the NITI Aayog, which ranks various states under different parameters of developmental index.
