Manipur Police destroy 45-acre poppy plantation in Senapati

IMPHAL:

Manipur government officials, on Friday, destroyed approximately 45 acres of illicit poppy plantation in Senapati district of Manipur.

A combined team of Senapati district police, Forest officials, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB) and other departments carried out the destruction drive in the hill range of Makuilongdi village, about 25 kms north-west of Senapati.

The mission “War on Drugs” started by the government is aimed at curbing the menace of drugs from society and is actively working towards taking down all illegal poppy plantations across the state.
