Manipur police arrests one UNLF cadre in Imphal east

IMPHAL:

Imphal East police arrested one Haorungbam Ranjit Meetei alias Lumba, 45-year-old, from Imphal east district who is said to be an active cadre of the proscribed group United National Liberation Front (UNLF) on 27 November.

As per sources it is said that on 27 November, the Imphal East police on receiving reliable information shared by the Assam Rifles about the presence of anti-social elements in and around Loushangkhong and Keibi Khunou of Imphal east district swiftly launched a counter-insurgency operation and arrested the UNLF cadre.

Police recovered one .38 pistol along with magazine loaded with five live rounds. The arrested person along with the seized arms and ammunitions has been handed over to Lamlai police station for further legal action.
