Manipur: People's Liberation Army (PLA) insurgent apprehended

IMPHAL

A joint team comprising Assam Rifles personnel and Thoubal District Police Commandos apprehended an active insurgent of the proscribed People's Liberation Army (PLA) on Thursday.

After receiving inputs from anonymous sources, the joint team launched a thorough search operation along NH-102 and apprehended the insurgent while he was moving towards Imphal.

They identified the insurgent as Soram Naocha, a self-styled Second Lieutenant of the PLA, and resident of Nungaoi Awang Leikai area in Imphal East.

Naocha was handed over to Khongjam Police Station (PS) for further legal action.
