Manipur: Member of banned insurgent group KKYL apprehended

IMPHAL:

Manipur Security Forces, on Thursday, apprehended an individual belonging to the banned insurgent group Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KKYL).

Security forces apprehended the suspect from Lalumbung village in Manipur’s Churachandpur district after receiving specific inputs.

The team that was tasked with apprehending the suspect included personnel from Assam Rifles and Manipur Police.

Authorities later identified the suspect as Irengbam Romeeyo Singh aka Romania, son of Irengbam Ningthemjao Singh of Wangoo Ahallup village, Bishnupur.

They later handed him over to Kumbi Police Station (PS) for further legal action.
