Manipur inaugurates short-term “Integrated Media Studies” course

IMPHAL: The State Institute of Journalism (SIJ) and Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Manipur inaugurated a six-month course on “Integrated Media Studies” at DIPR Complex in Imphal on Monday.

Pradip Phanjoubam, Senior journalist and author of Forum for Promotion of Social Justice (FPSJ) Review of Arts and Politics of the Imphal based news portal, was the chief guest at the inaugural function.

Speaking at the event, Pradip Phanjoubam said, “Such courses are a boon for both working journalists in the field and those aspiring media students, who want to learn more about media.”

The State Institute of Journalism is an autonomous institute imparting media education, fully funded by the Government of Manipur and managed by the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Manipur.

Heisnam Balkrisna, Director, IPR, Manipur attended the program as the functional president, while Waikhom Phajatombi Devi, Joint Director of IPR, was the Guest of Honour.
