Manipur: Illicit drugs seized in Thoubal district

IMPHAL:

A combined team of a commando (CDO) in Thoubal district in Manipur, along with Nongpok Sekmai Police (NSK) arrested two persons and seized a vast amount of illicit drugs on November 23.

The security officials had seized around 17,300 packets of foreign-made cigarettes made from a special blend of finest Virginia tobacco and 8460 packets of Djarum Black cigars made in Kudus, Indonesia.

According to reports, security officials conducted a checking, where two persons identified as Amin Khan (40) from Yairipok Malom Maning Leikai and Thotreichan Shinglai (28) from Somrei Village were detained while carrying in two white vehicles (Gypsy) bearing registration number MN07- 4406 and MZ01B-2958.

The detained persons along with the seized items were handed over to the Superintendent of Customs Preventive Force, Pallel, a town in Kakching District of Manipur.
