IMPHAL:

The state government rolled out new standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the people of Manipur to counteract the rising number of COVID-19 cases.

According to the new SOPs, only 20 people or fewer may attend social and customary ceremonies, including rituals and funerals.

The government also advised against socialising in public places such as tea shops and stated that the Local Covid Awareness-cum-Enforcement Committee would monitor the situation at the village, local and community level.

It has also advised many areas to restrict the entry and exit of non-locals after dark.

To curb the spread of COVID-19, the state government also directed local committees to play audio messages on basic COVID-19 SOPs through a loudspeaker daily.
