Manipur: Gallant borderman attains martyrdom in J&K

IMPHAL

A Border Security Force (BSF) sub-inspector lost his life during an encounter after Pakistan Army violated the ceasefire agreement along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s, Rajouri Sector on Tuesday.

“Martyred SI P Guite had displayed the highest degree of dedication and devotion to duty and laid down his life in the line of duty,” Inspector-General BSF Jammu, N.S Jamwal said.

“Martyred Sub Inspector P. Guite was a gallant and sincere border man. The nation will always remain indebted to him for his supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty. Border Security Force has retaliated strongly and effectively on Pakistan Army posts. The martyrdom of the Border man will not go in vain. Border Security Force salutes the Braveheart on BSF Raising Day.”

Guite hails from Maphoukuki village, Lamlong Post in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district.

We will fly his body back to his native village where the last rites will be performed with full state honours, he added.
