Manipur: Contraband substances seized in Thoubal district

IMPHAL:

The Manipur Police team, in an operation conducted on February 16, recovered a vast quantity of contraband substances from Lilong Haoreibi Turel Ahanbi area of Thoubal district.

Acting on a tip-off, the team raided the house of one Md Hussain (45), and recovered various types of illegal drugs banned under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.

The search resulted in the recovery of 25.2 grams of suspected Heroin No 4, 82 number of suspected WY Tablets weighing 09.5 grams and 504 numbers of empty small plastic containers used for storing Heroin No 4 drug.

Police reported the drugs were stored inside a special cell of the house which also served the purpose of a shop.

Meanwhile, the police have filed an FIR against the accused and also sent him for further legal proceedings.
