IMPHAL:

The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee commemorated the 131st birth anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru at the Congress Bhawan in Imphal on Saturday.

Speaking at the remembrance ceremony, Congress leader and former Chief Minister O. Ibobi Singh said that Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was the architect of new India and added that India didn’t become a superpower overnight or in the last five years.

It is the contribution of Congress leaders such as Pandit Nehru and many others which have led India to become what it is today.

Our duty is to continue serving the people whether we are in power or not.”
