Manipur CM releases book on Indo-Myanmar relations

IMPHAL:

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, on February 13, officially released the book ‘Manipur – Myanmar Connections: An Indic Perspective’ during a formal programme organised by the Intellectual Forum for North-East in Imphal city.

The book aims to provide an insight into the Indo-Myanmar relations and was released in the presence of officials from different departments.

While addressing the gathering, Singh said the relation between Manipur and Myanmar had improved considerably since the Sangai Festival, and the book reflects the improved ties.

The CM also urged the public to write more books about the state and its rich history.

Besides this, Singh assured that the state government would provide financial support to budding writers and scholars.

Manipur – Myanmar Connections: An Indic Perspective comprises 26 articles and is jointly edited by Shukhdeba Sharma Hanjabam, Aheibam Koireng Singh and Kakchingtabam Ruhinikumar Sharma.
