Manipur CM inaugurates Bailey bridge

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, on Wednesday, inaugurated the newly constructed Bailey bridge along the Imphal–Jiribam highway.

The Bailey bridge over Irang river had collapsed twice on November 1 and November 11, killing the driver of a tipper truck when it fell into the river.

Since then, reinstallation works for the Bailey bridge have been going on.

Chief Minister N Biren Singh also laid the foundation stone of a 4-lane RCC Bridge over Irang river along the Imphal-Jiribam road (National Highway-37) which would approximately cost ₹ 49.31 crore.
