Manipur CM hands over ex gratia to family of slain BSF personnel

IMPHAL:

Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, on Tuesday, handed over a cheque of Rs 5 lakh under ‘Major Laishram Jyotin Singh Ex-Gratia Scheme’ to the family of Sub-Inspector (GD) Paotinsat Guite of 59th Battalion Border Security Force.

Guite had died due to bullet injuries during an exchange of fire with terrorists at the Line of Control (LOC) in Jammu and Kashmir on December 1 last year.

Director-General (DG) of Border Security Force (BSF), Rakesh Asthana, also handed over Rs 1 lakh to the family from his side.
