Manipur By-Elections 2020: 1,35,212 electorates expected to vote in the upcoming by-polls

1, 35, 212 electorates which include 1,777 serviced voters are expected to cast their votes in the upcoming by-election in four assembly constituencies, namely Wangoi, Lilong, Wangjing Tentha and Saitu on November 7.

In Wangoi Assembly constituency in Imphal west district, 28, 561 voters are enrolled along with 267 serviced voters, totalling up to 28, 828 voters. One voter was identified under the third gender category. 395 electorates are above 80 years and 139 persons with disabilities (PwD) voters.

A minority dominated assembly segment, Lilong constituency in Thoubal district has 33, 506 voters which include 361 serviced voters. It has the lowest population count of electorate above 80 years at 217 and 197 persons with disabilities (PwD) as voters.

Wanjing Tentha, in Thoubal district, has 31, 919 electorates, which include 447 serviced voters. 368 persons above the age of 80 are expected to vote from this constituency. It also has 58 persons with disabilities (PwD) as electorates.

Saitu, a reserved ST (Scheduled Tribe) seat in Kangpokpi district has the highest number of voters above 80 years at 705. It has 40, 959 voters that include 702 serviced voters. This constituency has the highest number of general voters, serviced voters, highest electorate above 80 years of age and also the highest number of persons with disabilities (PwD) at 245 among the four assembly constituencies. Four voters have identified themselves as belonging to the third gender.
