Manipur boxer wins gold at 30th Adriatic Pearl Tournament

BUDVA:

India's gold-winning streak continued at the 30th Adriatic Pearl Tournament in Budva, Montenegro after boxer Thokchom Sanamacha Chanu from Manipur bagged the gold medal on February 20.

Chanu emerged victorious in the 75 kg category defeating her nearest rival and teammate Raj Sahiba 5-0 to clinch the gold medal.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh took to Twitter and congratulated Chanu on the win.

"Congratulations to T.Sanamacha Chanu on clinching gold medal at the 30th Adriatic Pearl Tournament in Budva, Montenegro. My best wishes in all her future tournaments," Singh tweeted.

The Indian boxers have so far won two gold, two silver and three bronze medals in the competition.
